  • .Banks recruit on a large scale every year.
  • .Institute of banking personnel selection (IBPS) conducts a series of common written examinations (CWEs) for the selection of PO/MT/Clerk/Specialist officer positions in public sector banks(except SBI) and officers & office assistants in regional rural banks (RRBs).
  • .SBI conducts examination for recruitment of Clerk/PO/Specialist officer positions in SBI and associate banks.
  • .Likewise examinations are conducted separately for recruitment of officer & assistant positions in RBI, IPPB (India post payments bank), IDBI, NABARD, SEBI, SIDBI, etc.
  • All leading national & state co-operative banks & scheduled urban co-operative banks conduct examinations individually for recruitment to vacant positions.
  • Examinations for recruitment of Assistants/Managers/AO/AAO in LIC, GIC, UIICL, NIACL, OICL, NICL, AIC & IRDA etc.

Test Pattern

  • IBPS CWE PO/MT
    Preliminary examination Objective test, 100 questions, 100 marks, 25% negative marking, 1 hour English language: (30 questions, 30 marks), quantitative aptitude: (35 questions, 35 marks), reasoning: (35 questions, 35 marks)
    Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.
  • Main examination
    Objective test, 200 questions, 200 marks, 25% negative marking, 140 minutes Reasoning :( 50 questions, 50 marks, 40 minutes), English language: (40 questions, 40 marks, 30 minute), quantitative aptitude :( 50 questions, 50 marks, 40 minutes), general awareness with special reference to banking industry :( 40 questions, 40 marks, 20 minutes), computer knowledge: (20 questions, 20 marks, 10 minutes) Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.
    Interview: Marks obtained in the main examination only will be considered for short listing for interview and also for final merit listing.
  • IBPS CWE Clerical
    Preliminary examination
    Objective test, 100 questions, 100 marks, 25% negative marking, 1 hour English language: (30 questions, 30 marks), numerical ability :( 35 questions, 35 marks), reasoning :( 35 questions, 35 marks) Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.
    Main examination
    Objective test, 200 questions, 200 marks, 25% negative marking, 135 minutes Reasoning: (40 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes), English language: (40 questions, 40 marks, 30 minutes), quantitative aptitude: (40 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes), general awareness with special reference to banking industry: (40 questions, 40 marks, 25 minutes) ,computer knowledge:(40 questions, 20 marks, 20 minutes). Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of online main examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further process. Marks obtained in the main examination only will be considered for final merit listing .
  • IBPS CWE Specialist Officers
    Law officer scale-I
    Objective test, 120 minutes, 25% negative marking Reasoning: (50 questions, 30 minutes), English language: (50 questions, 25 minutes), quantitative aptitude :( 50 questions, 30 minutes) professional knowledge :( 50 questions, 80 marks, 35 minutes)
    Interview: Professional knowledge test counts for merit listing for interview, rest tests only qualifying .
  • IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
    Preliminary examination
    Objective test, 80 questions, 80 marks, 25% negative marking, 45 minutes Reasoning: (40 questions, 40 marks) Numerical ability :( 40 questions, 40 marks).
    Main examination

    Marks obtained only in the main examination will be considered for final merit listing. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of online main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for provisional allotment .
